DIY Easter Egg Dyeing The Magic Method

Let the Easter egg dyeing begin! Create beautiful, colorful eggs with your family with this handy Magical Easter Egg Recipe. My daughter is calling it the “Magic Easter Eggs”. Using beeswax to decorate the eggs you won’t be able to see what you are doing until after you taking the eggs out of the dye. The eggs might not be the prettiest but the kids are having fun creating these Easter Eggs.

You need:
– eggs preferable white eggs
– beeswax
– vinegar
– food colouring

1. Gently place eggs in single layer in large saucepan. Add enough cold water to cover eggs by 1 inch. Cover. Bring just to boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.

2. Pour off hot water and rapidly cool eggs by running them under cold water (or place in ice water) until completely cooled.

3. Decorate the Eggs – Draw shapes onto the eggs using the beeswax

4. Mix 1/2 cup boiling water  or just hot water will do as well, 3-4 spoons vinegar and 10 to 20 drops food color in a cup to achieve desired colors. Repeat for each color. Dip hard-cooked eggs in dye for about 5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon, wire egg holder or tongs to add and remove eggs from dye. Allow eggs to dry.
